The birthday of Crown Princess Victoria is a big deal in Sweden, with celebrations usually being topped off in a big old pop concert that’s broadcast on national TV. We’ve heard her royal highness is a massive fan of pop and schlager. And the names that were wheeled out last night matched this theory accordingly. We got Danny Saucedo, Loreen, and Agnes – each doing two songs.
Danny Saucedo thankfully spared the Princess a blush inducing performance of his latest musical output ‘Shake That Ass‘, instead preferring to go down the classy route with the ballad version of ‘Amazing’, and a live band interpretation of ‘In The Club’. Loreen offered up a stripped back version of ‘My Heart Is Refusing Me’, and also sang ‘Euphoria’ in all its regalia. Agnes performed ‘One Last Time’ (taking it back up to number 1 on Swedish iTunes after the show) and ‘Release Me’, even managing to throw in an outfit change between the two songs, and looking incredible during both.
