It makes perfect sense really. Use Eurovision as a stage to show off two of your biggest and most promising young popstars. Two singers that despite all their numerous achievements domestically, still have a lot of international potential in them. And so that’s what Sweden did.
Step forward Darin and Agnes. Both performing a medley of two of their own songs.
Darin performed his massive Swedish hit from last year, ‘Nobody Knows’, plus his current single in Germany and parts of mainland Europe, ‘So Yours’. And then Agnes took to the stage to sing her big comeback single from 2012 ‘One Last Time’, and her breakthrough international hit ‘Release Me’.
Both artists demonstrating what we’ve been saying in the five years since this website’s conception – that Sweden produces the best pop music and the best popstars. End of.
