You might well remember back in January we introduced you to a new Swedish singer called Ace Wilder, and her hefty contribution to the science of good debut pop singles, ‘Do It’.
Well she’s back, and she’s still good. Which you can see and hear for yourself in her new single and video, ‘Bitches Like Fridays’.
Here’s Ace’s presentation of the song;
“I believe in the the 5:2 method;
5 days for work, 2 days for party…Bitches Like Fridays!
‘Bitches Like Fridays’ is my way of honoring the most important time of the week, Fridays! This is how it should be and maybe this is how it is when Bitches get to decide!”
The lyrics basically echo that 5:2 sentiment thing detailed above. A good girl during the week (“pink lace and necklace made of pearl“….oh ok maybe not), and a veritable savage at the weekend. This is all set to a backdrop of what we really have to say is extremely well produced slow crunk n’ shit. The kitchen sink production is quite possibly the best thing about it. Or maybe it’s the purposefully lazy and nonchalant vocal delivery from our ace Ace. That’s pretty ace too. And kinda sexy.
The whole bleeding gums thing in the video soon puts an end to that sexiness though. But the song’s still brill.
