In a bizarre turn of events, this really doesn’t sound anything like you would think it would sound. The original ‘All I Want For Christmas Is You’ by Mariah Carey is without a doubt one of the most schlager-tastic songs ever created. It’s got pure schlager dripping from its every satsuma and chocolate stuffed pore. So you would ASSUME, that when it was covered by two young popstar mites from the actual Kingdom of schlager, Sweden, that it would be a fairly straight forward run through of things.
But no. They actually turned it into a midtempo piece of semi balladry! And whilst it is obviously nowhere near as amazing as the Mariah original, it is still a highly enjoyable bit of Christmas tunage – and it’s from two of our absolute favourite scandipopstars too.
