Former a-ha frontman Morten Harket has got a new solo album out next month, ‘Out Of My Hands’. In his native Norway, ‘Lightning‘ was the lead single, and we really enjoyed it (much to our surprise, truth be told). However, for the international market, he’s going with a different song as the lead single – ‘Scared Of Heights’.
If you liked ‘Lightning’, then you’ll probably enjoy ‘Scared Of Heights’ too. It’s more of the same up-tempo, string laden, falsetto featuring, eighties echoing pop music. It doesn’t take too much straining of the ears to work out that this is the guy from a-ha.
We like this one even more than ‘Lightning’, so can see why it’s been chosen as the lead single for the album outside of Norway. Who knows what sort of success he will have in 2012, but given that Roxette can still get a-listed on BBC Radio 2 in the UK, and score a top 10 album in Germany, there should be a place for Morten too. Especially if he’s making songs this good;
