Well now this is something VERY special indeed. It’s a mash-up. Quite probably one of the best mash-ups that we’ve EVER heard EVER. EVER!
The music of Robyn’s ‘Dancing On My Own’ spliced together with the topline from Whitney Houston’s ‘How Will I Know’. And it’s just so perfect, so unbelievably seamless. Yes, we know that that’s what a mash-up is supposed to be, after all. But even the good ones have their jarring moments, seconds or lines. This however, is all killer and all thriller!
The final chorus in particular is a treat – with Whitney’s classic ad-libs playing out over ‘Dancing On My Own’s frantic juggernaut of a beat – but sounding so natural with it. And it’s probably not just us who enjoy the unintentional Robyn tribute when Whitney trills “with every heartbeat” throughout the chorus.
