Oooh, look whose finally gotten around to making a video for her single! Three months after it was knocked out of Melodifestivalen, and two months after it went on sale, ‘Disconnect Me’ by Marie Serneholt has been given the video treatment. But what a treatment it is! Stylish, expensive, stunning, and quite artistic. The video sees Marie in a variety of hair styles, costumes, and backdrops. Dancing, posing, electronically connected to power sources etc etc! And we even see a return appearance from the little white dress that she wore for Melodifestivalen too. Which, come to think of it, has been essentially copied by eventual Melodifestivalen victor, Malena Ernman, for her Eurovision performance! The cheek! We don’t blame her though, it’s a hot piece! We bet Malena wishes that she’d waited until she saw the video before deciding which Marie dress to copy – surely that lightbulb number would have been the best option, no?!
It’s probably one of the best pop videos we’ve seen in a long time. Marie looks absolutely amazing in every single shot. ‘Disconnect Me’ probably isn’t going to have a massive resurgance of popularity in Sweden simply because of the video, but it’s going to be a good way to launch the single around the rest of Europe.
