Today is the day – and this morning SVT held a press conference to announce the first lot of artists that will be competing in Melodifestivalen 2012. The 8 acts in Heat 1 and the 8 acts in Heat 2 are now known. And they are;

Somewhat predictably – it’s the pop ladies that we’re looking forward to the most. And Andreas Lundstedt too.
We attended the press conference and managed to grab a quick chat with all of the girls, and Andreas also. All of those mini interviews will be in the website in the coming week(s!). Plus we were ever so curious about this David Lindgren character – as we hadn’t heard of him before. So we had a chat with him too, and he told us to expect an uptempo pop number with lots of dancing and big show. So that’s us converted straight away!
Overall though, both heats are looking incredibly tough on artist name alone. On paper, each heat has between five and six acts that you would fully expect to qualify directly to the final. So as there are only four places in the final to the above sixteen artists – there’s gonna be a lot of surprises and disappointments. Yikes!
With only half of the artists now known – colour us an excited pink!
