AMAZING!

It’s back!

‘It’ being the internet viral semi-phenomenon that was ‘Caramelldansen’ by Swedish pop group Caramell. In a nutshell – one of Caramell’s album tracks from 2001, ‘Caramelldansen’, was inexplicably remixed five years later and used as an internet viral featuring three anime characters dancing like pilled up lunatics to the hugely sped-up version of the song. This new version, still credited as Caramell but fronted by the three animated girls, became something of a huge hit in some parts of the world, and a source of mild amusement for all the other parts of the world. The video still gets played on Clubland TV in the UK, for example. This is it, should you need your memory refreshing.

ANYWAY, for the most part the hype of the song has more or less died down (although a quick scour of youtube shows that even this week, people are uploading the song, the video, and their own remixes and versions of the video), however, it’s coming back! Whoever owns the patent of the three animated girls, is now calling them Caramella Girls (as the original Caramell group that recorded ‘Caramelldansen’ have long since disbanded). ARE YOU STILL WITH US?! And these Caramella Girls have been given a brand new song, which was released worldwide earlier this month. A 30 second clip of the video is streaming on youtube.

The new song is called ‘Boogie Bam Dance’, and is streaming in full below. We’re not even going to attempt to give it a serious review, as it’s quite clearly and obviously MENTAL! But needless to say, we love it. It’s hyped up, turbo dancepop. It’s bubblegum laced with amphetamines. Totally catchy, sickly sweet, fatteningly cheesy, and probably very VERY bad for you. But if you like that sort of thing, you’ll be totally addicted!
