This evening, Ace of Base gave what was their first performance on Swedish television in an absolute age!
They appeared on the Easter Sunday special of Bingolotto, and did ‘Southern California’ from their current album, ‘The Golden Ratio’. Clara took to the front of the stage providing the lead vocals, with Julia joining in on backing vocal duties and then having a dance around the stage when said backing vocals weren’t needed. Jonas and Ulf stayed at the back doing the music. And you can watch the performance below.
We have to say, Bingolotto really is the most surreal show on television. Where else can you see bona-fide popstars sitting down and playing bingo to a jazz-lite soundtrack, as Lotta Engberg reads out the numbers slowly?! Seeing Kikki Danielsson and Linda Pritchard playing side by side was bizarre enough earlier in the evening, but seeing Ulf Ekberg really took the pepparkakor! Although of course we wouldn’t have it other way. And yes, he’s still fit, and this still stands (and thanks to all 636 of you who ‘liked’ it on Facebook!).
