Eric Saade’s been a busy chap this week, trying to convince the rest of the world what we and you already knew – that he’s every inch the mega international popstar!
The video for his single, ‘Popular’ premiered a few days ago. And in just 3 days it’s managed to amass over 75,000 views on youtube, and get itself mentioned on most of the major pop blogs going (hello, yet even more Popjustice.com coverage!). It’s a professional looking effort, shot in the Kollingborg club venue in Stockholm (where Paradise is held every Friday night). There are two versions of the vid in circulation – censored and uncensored – although both have the same thing going on. It’s a traditional dance-off battle between two gangs. Things get a lot more violent in the uncensored version, upsettingly so. We even had one person tweet us earlier in the week to say that they cried a little when watching the bits in which Eric gets beaten up! We imagine Eric is fine though. And he most certainly comes out of all of this looking a lot more stronger than before – the Eurovision stage is looking even more tailor made for him right now.
You can watch the ‘clean’ edit below, or for the more thrill seeking amongst you, the uncensored version here.
On top of wowing us with his new vid, he’s also been on the promotional trail in Eastern Europe too. And below you can watch his performance of ‘Popular’ on a grand stage at some Armenia Music Awards show thing, which we don’t know too much about. Keeping up with the ‘I am a star” image he’s currently carving out for himself, he even went so far as to keep his shades on for the the first half of the performance. The absolute rebel!
Eric we love you more and more with each passing day.
