Swedish artist Alex Alexander is out with a wonderfully titled new album – ‘2080s’. Presumably so-called because it has a current of ’80s-influenced modern pop running through its duration. One particular highlight is brand-new song ‘I Don’t Mind’, featuring Hedara. A neon-hued invitation to chill, this song almost gets quite specific in the influence it’s taken from that era. And as you sit back and get lost in the many charms of its swoonsome production, it’s hard not to have the greatest moments of Spandau Ballet to come to mind. A very welcome throwback as you enjoy your first (of probably many) listen.
