Although most Swedes won’t need any introduction to him at all! Andreas has arguably been Sweden’s biggest male fashion blogger for a couple of years now. But in February, he’ll release his debut single, ‘Like My Style’. This excites us for three reasons;
1. ‘Like My Style’ has been composed by Fredrik Kempe
2. Andreas is clearly going in a very pop direction
3. Have you SEEN the photo above?! *swoon*
On the surface it would appear that Andreas has only got his record deal simply because he’s a super famous blogger (hello, Rebecca & Fiona!). But in fact Andreas, actually started singing before he went into the fashion thing. And at one stage had got quite far into one series of Swedish Idol. Plus, if you type his name into youtube (when you’ve finished typing it into google images – *swoon*!), you’ll see some amateur vids of him singing, including a gorgeous version of Robyn’s ‘Be Mine’.
Given how ridiculously famous the biggest bloggers are in Sweden (we don’t know many other countries that embrace bloggers as much as the Swedes do), and especially how much the most recent Rebecca & Fiona single, ‘Bullets’ has sold on iTunes this month, we’re expecting ‘Like My Style’ to be one to watch. It definitely stands a good shot of success, just because it’s him. The song premieres on Monday, January 31st at www.kanal5.se, but until then you can hear a small clip below. The clippage doesn’t give too much away, aside from a ‘Dancing On My Own’-esque throbbing bassline and a faux-rock vocal. But we’re expecting the full thing to be very good indeed. Fredrik Kempe rarely lets us down. Plus, given the time of year that it’s debuting, we can’t help but wonder if perhaps it might have been a Melodifestivalen reject? We’ll report back on Monday with our full thoughts.
