What’s this? Sweden’s Måns Zelmerlöw has punctuated a big summer tour of Sverige with the release of some new music – this is ‘Midsummer Love’.
What’s it like? Following on from previous single ‘What You Were Made For‘, Måns continues exploring his stint with synthpop on ‘Midsummer Love’. It’s pure ’80s nostalgia in sound, paired with lyrics of reflection about a youth well spent!
What does Måns say?Wanted to thank everyone who’s been to see us this summer by releasing this little gem. About my teenage summers, about not knowing what life has in store for you, about my Ford Escort that kept breaking down but I still loved it because it symbolised freedom, about the first crush, about the sunsets on the beach with a beer (5) that may or may not have been stolen from my parents..and so on. We’ve been playing this live all summer and it’s SO much fun. I love it. Hope you do too.
Written by? The Måns himself, along with James New and Paul Whalley.

You can find ‘Midsummer Love’ on our Best New Synthpop playlist.
