Who? Swedish artist Linus Erlandsson. Some of you may already be familiar with his music thanks to his time in the duo Nordik Sonar. But now, as Linus and the Moon, he’s launched a recording career as a solo artist (unless this Moon he speaks of actually turns out to be an another entity entirely, which we can’t rule out). And he’s got a smashing new tune out – ‘Communicate’.
What’s it like? It’s retro-flavoured synthwave with a modern-day theme – it’s a song that tackles an unhappy love story that takes place in today’s social media landscape, where one watches the love of their life living from afar, and the ensuing loneliness that erupts from that. That tech-themed love story of uncertainty, combined with the sounds inspired by the first forays into electronica music – that’s a beautiful pairing right there.
