Who? Elverket is a new artist project from two of our fave Swedish producers, who have worked together on some terrific pop tunes many times before – Fredrik Sonefors and Jimmy Jansson. And this is their first single, ‘Somarnatt’.
What’s it like? Well it’s actually a cover of the Swedish classic from the ’80s, originally by Snowstorm.
What have they done with it? They’ve turned it into a chill-house tune, repackaging it for a new generation of Swedes who are wanting to squeeze every last second out of these summer nights after a particularly dark winter. They’ve also given it a melancholic feel – this is definitely a version for when you’re at least half a dozen beverages into the evening.
