What’s this? Tomorrow evening he represents his native Iceland in the grand final of the 2021 Eurovision Song Contest with his band Gagnamagnið, but today Daði Freyr is out with a brand-new EP. ‘Welcome’!
What’s on it? His Eurovision song ’10 Years’ is on there, as is a brand-new remix of ’10 Years’, courtesy of Chromeo. And he’s also popped on his infamous entry to the 2020 Eurovision Song Contest – ‘Think About Thing’.
So it’s like ‘Welcome’ as in – hey, I’m that guy you just saw at Eurovision, here’s some more of me? Exactly! He’s also included last year’s excellent ‘Feel The Love’, which we featured on here upon its release. And he’s thrown in two brand-new tracks for good measure too – ‘Clear My Head’ and ‘Somebody Else Now’.
Highlights? That Chromeo remix of ’10 Years’ has got some major synth wizardry contained within – it goes off to some whole new places. And we’re glad to be taken on the trip.
What does Daði say?I wanted to give a small taste of my music before I debut with a whole full-length. I like to make music that is fun, and this is the result of that.

You can find ’10 Years’ (Chromeo Remix) on our Best New Synthpop playlist.
