A pop-up shop? A Scandipop-up shop! Or a Scandishop, if you will.
Selling what? Merch on a Scandipop theme. T-shirts and other apparel, phone cases and covers, totes and bags, cups and bottles, coasters and clocks. Stuff that’s been emblazoned with either the Scandipop logo, or our own graphic designs that are in some way or another connected to Nordic pop music. We’re launching now with 12 of those designs, but we’ll be introducing new designs every month.
What’s all this in aid of? Well, we’ve been running this website as a labour of love for over 12 years now. And we’ll continue to do so – out of a genuine passion for the music and as support for the artists making it. We still enjoy providing the website, just as much as you hopefully enjoy using it as a resource. But it does have some running costs attached to it. Other music websites have a subscription model or a paywall, which is something we don’t believe we would ever consider. And then there are other websites which encourage their readers to donate to them – which is a potential idea we have toyed with in the past. But we think launching a store of some sort is a much better option. That way, readers can ‘donate’ if they so wish – but they get something physical and tangible sent to them in return – Scandipop merch. Scandipop stuff.
How does the store work? It’s in operation via Redbubble – a leading Print-On-Demand online marketplace.
