What’s this? Danish duo Ben & Tan are back with a brand-new single. ‘Iron Heart’.
The timing is…interesting. One could even call it tactical. And why not. The duo had hoped to be competing in tomorrow night’s Melodi Grand Prix in Denmark, after being denied their chance to go to Eurovision on the back of their MGP win last year. However, Danish broadcaster DR wouldn’t permit their return, in the interest of “fairness to the other competitors“.
But they’re back anyway. And with a song containing a lyric that really speaks to the fighter position they find themselves in – soldiering on with their pop ambitions regardless of the knocks they’ve faced.
What’s the song like? Pretty damn excellent. A rousing, catchy number that exudes joy, energy and positivity. It also ends up sounding far more competitive than the majority of this year’s Melodi Grand Prix line-up, but that’s another conversation for another day.
