What’s this? Following his final episode of this year’s series of Så Mycket Bättre, Benjamin Ingrosso has today released an EP comprised of his four songs from the show. ‘Tolkningarna’.
How was his time on the show? A resounding hit. The songs have been huge on Spotify and on radio, with all four of them currently on the Spotify top 50. An impressive feat normally, but even more so when you consider how much new music has currently been ousted from the chart in favour of Christmas music. And then there’s Benjamin himself – a whole nation has fallen in love with the adorable young man with the enormous personality that he got to showcase during his four weeks on primetime TV.
Which songs have been the biggest? Well his cover of Lisa Nilsson’s ‘Långsamt Farväl’ has been out the longest, so has clocked up the most streams. But it also seems to be one holding up the best on Spotify, and on radio, too. Our personal fave is his cover of Lili & Susie’s ‘Only Your Heart’, what with all the bang etc. Although that’s closely followed by he did with Silvana Imam’s ‘Tänd Alla Ljus’ – something quite different for him, but which hits the spot marvellously. And his most recent cover – of Tommy Körberg’s ‘Judy Min Vän’ – is already on its way to becoming a new housewives fave.
So all of them, then? Well look, it’s pretty much a textbook example of how to do Så Mycket Bättre right. Few have used their time on the show as flawlessly as our Benji did. And 2021 may well end up being his biggest year yet, as a result.
