What’s this? Sweden’s Isak Danielson is out with a brand-new single and video – ‘Almost Heaven’.
What’s it like? Despite it being a cover (of a Jeremiah Lloyd Harmon song), it fits seamlessly in to Isak’s song book. Backed by a 17-piece string-ensemble, Isak injects his inimitable vocal prowess into the song, adding an extra few layers of drama to it, as only he knows how.
What does Isak say? “The first time I heard this song I was completely captivated. The melody, the lyrics, the music… it felt like one of those songs I wish I had written myself. I called Jeremiah and talked about the song, what it meant to him. In the video I wanted to highlight his story, which I also feel is very important to talk about: everyone’s right to love who they want to, how they want to and when they want to.”
More from Isak? A new album will follow early next year.
