What’s this? The second of the automatic finalists of Norway’s Melodi Grand Prix 2020 has been released today. Didrik & Emil Solli-Tangen – ‘Out Of Air’.
Remind me again how all of this MGP thing is working this year. All the details, the results of last week’s first heat, the songs of tomorrow’s second heat – right here.
And what are Didrik & Emil bringing to the table? A potential winner, as it happens. They’ve delivered an absolute epic of a tune that sees a soaring melody fly high over a glorious synthpop soundscape. It sounds beautiful on record, and you just know that these chaps will be able to do it justice live, too. Which makes this a highly competitive shot to take the MGP title next month.
What would you compare it to? It’s the kind of thing that Take That would launch as a lead single from a new album. But a few years back, when they were a lot stronger.
Written by? Fredrik Boström, Mats Tärnfors, Niclas Lundin and Didrik Solli-Tangen.
