We don’t think we’ve ever listened to a 38 second clip of a song as much as we’ve listened to this so far today. It’s ‘Better Best Forgotten’, the brand new single from Swedish sort-of-dansband, CC & Lee. We say ‘sort of’, because whilst they do belong very much to the dansband scene, and sing a lot of traditional dansband hits, they’re also very much schlager-tastic. And this new song is probably the most schlager they’ve ever gone!
It’s not a cover of the Steps classic of the same name, although it is the kind of song that you could imagine being sung by said group. Pete Waterman once described Steps as ‘’Abba on speed’’, and this track is most definitely Abba. Perhaps not on speed, but definitely on at least half a bottle of Lambrini! Like we say, it’s only a 38 second clip, but you still get the idea that it’s quite possibly going to be one of the best songs of the year. It sounds absolutely immense in every possible way. THAT CHORUS!
It’s released in Sweden next Wednesday (we’re counting down the minutes already), but for now, blast this clip out as loud as possible, sit back, and just EXPLODE with camp excited euphoria!
