Brave move, going for a song title THAT well known elsewhere. Well it IS a cover of the Ted Gärdestad classic, actually.
Ah. What kind of cover? Well, personally, we’re very pleased to see that the trend that Kamferdrops started last summer – of modernising Scandi classics – has yet to die down. And Swedish collective UNDRESSD now release their debut single – launching with one of Sweden’s most loved songs of all time.
What do UNDRESSD say? “More and more classic songs will soon be forgotten and do not get the space they deserve in today’s music climate. We want them to be re discovered by the younger generation by performing them in modern versions.”
Fair. We’re hoping they won’t be a one-single wonder, and that they mean every word of the above. We want more life breathed into more Swedish classics, please.
