An actual album?! A full album of 10 tracks or more, yes! 12, in this case.
Scandipopstars still do them? Occasionally. Norwegian artist Julie Bergan was long overdue one, and ‘Turn On The Lights’ serves as her debut album. And we’re very glad she went to the effort. It’s brill.
What’s on it? Five smash hit singles, and seven brand new songs.
Sounds like? Mercifully, she’s kept it in line with her hits, and delivered an album full of futuristic synthpop tunes that bang hard.
The highlight? Ironically, given what we’ve just said, our favourite song on there is the album’s big ballad ”Second Hand Love’. We’ve long known her vocal was an incredible force. And she’s somehow managed to top it on this one. She should release this as her next single. It’s up there with her best two hits, ‘Incapable’ and ‘Guilt Trip’.
