The latest series of Så Mycket Bättre has just wrapped in Sweden. And one artist in particular has come out of it very well indeed. Eric Saade.
Not only did Eric get to show his native Sweden a whole new side to his personality – or to put it another way, finally open up that personality to the cameras, thanks to conversations with his castmates – but he also got to contribute seven new songs. And of all the seven artists featured in this series, he arguably had the most consistent hit rate – only turning in one dud cover version (‘Där Får Du Andas Ut’, if you must know – but then we’ve never been the biggest fans of Eric Saade doing ballads).
Highlights of his time on the show, were undoubtedly his rousing re-working of Uno Svenningson’s ‘Allt Man Kan önska Sig’ and his contemporary version of Kikki Danielsson’s ‘Bra Vibrationer’. His self-penned Swedish language cover of Sabina Ddumba’s ‘Want’ (‘Vill’) showcased his creativity well, and we were also big fans of his simple rendition of Icona Pop’s ‘We Got The World’.
Though as always with these shows, what we’re most excited about, is seeing how he channels his experience making these songs, and his increased levels of popularity – into the next phase of his career.
This weekend, Eric released an EP of all of his songs from the series – the ‘Tolkningarna’ EP, which you can listen to below.
