scandipop favourites are doing very well in the Swedish charts this week. The likeable Danny has risen all the way to number one with his new single ‘Radio’. This bodes well for the release of his new album ‘Set Your Body Free’. Danny has done the honourable thing and promised that the new album will be just as dance orientated as his first. Sweden are obviously showing their appreciation of his commendable commitment to quality music by making him number one! Hopefully this will make him consider extending his paid leave from that dire side project of his, EMD. Elsewhere on the singles chart, Elin Lanto is a re-entry at number 16. Elin scared us last week by dropping out of the top 60 after only one week! But she’s back now and hopefully ‘Discotheque’ will be selling steadily over Christmas – further increasing our chances of hearing an album made in the same vein. Current Melodifestivalen golden boy Markoolio, climbs from 34 to 6 in his second week on the chart with ‘Markoolio’s Anthem’.
In the albums chart, ‘Our Christmas’ by Sanna, Shirley, and Sonja has climbed to number one after debuting at number two last week. This is thoroughly deserved. ‘Our Christmas’ is the perfect Christmas album – beautiful melodies, jingle bells, and a cover of ‘All I Want For Christmas Is You’! Amy Diamond climbs to number 8 after last week’s disappointing entry at number 16. And Charlotte Perrelli spends a third week outside the top ten, this time dropping to number 17. On a side note, poor Britney Spears limps in at number 24 with her AMAZING new album ‘Circus’, and hopes that no one will notice! Oh well, we’re sure it’ll climb.
