The singers from two of Sweden’s biggest dansbands have gotten together an released an ALMIGHTY schlager banger. Erica Sjöström from Drifters and Maria Rolf from Titanix have come out with ‘I Love You Baby’ – a song which resembles the glory days of Charlotte Nielsen winning the Eurovision Song Contest with ‘Take Me To Your Heaven’. That intro! That tempo! That chorus! That key change! We know what you’re thinking – why didn’t they enter it into Melodifestivalen? Well it turns out that they actually did, for this year’s contest. But it was rejected by SVT. FUMING. Anyway, it was released yesterday, and premiered on Sunday’s Bingolotto. So you can take it all in now. It’s a modern day schlager classic. Written by some schlager legends too – Dille Diedricson, Gert Lengstrand, Bernhard Löhr, Kristian Wejshag, and Jerry Rolf.
