What’s all this? It’s new music from Robyn! While we wait for her next album, she’s embarked upon a side project. Robyn & La Bagatelle Magique. It’s music that she had been working on with Christian Falk and Markus Jagerstedt, before Falk passed away. Robyn and Markus continued to work on the songs together, and now they’re releasing them.
Is ‘Set Me Free’ the first single? No it’s actually the second single. The first was ‘Love Is Free’ – but in all honesty it really wasn’t very good. Quite the opposite. So we never featured it on here.
So what’s ‘Set Me Free’ like? MUCH better! A shimmering synth concoction of disco, electro, and euphoric pop. An exhilarating four minutes of sonic discoveries – it’s got a production and a vocal that you can get completely immersed in.
Will there be more songs? There will! A 5 track EP will be released on August 7th, titled ‘Love Is Free’.
