Who? Two Swedish girls. Amanda Levin and Jennifer Filipsson. Together they’ve formed Ambition 17, and today they release their debut single. ‘Singel’.
What’s it like? A very strong debut that positions them as a new pop act to listen out for. Flavours of electro and smidgeons of rock are contained within ‘Singel’, and for the purposes of comparison, we’d put them in the same league as Icona Pop. In terms of their sound and in terms of their early ability to churn out a belter.
Anything else? They’re currently competing in this year’s series of Svensktoppen Nästa with this song. We have no idea if they’re still even in the competition or have been knocked out – we find the whole thing a bit confusing. But they’re certainly making more waves than anyone else in there. After only a few hours on release ‘Singel’ is already Top 20 on iTunes. Because it’s THAT good.
