Who is The Lola O? Not a lady, but rather a duo. A brand new Swedish duo comprised of Freja and Fred. This is their debut single ‘Jolly’.
What’s the song like? A heart-wrenching ballad that manages to straddle the line between anthemic and downbeat. The chorus is a revelation once it arrives.
Why the name The Lola O? One night the pair of them were having a knees-up in Brixton pub The White Horse (which is just around the corner from where live!!!), and the barman kept calling Freja ‘Lola’ the whole evening. The O stands for one-man-orchestra – Fred plays all of the instruments, and produces. Freja sings and is also a songwriter (she wrote Amanda Fondell’s Melodifestivalen entry ‘Dumb’). We’re already gagging to hear more from the pair of them.
