There are Scandinavian pop artists still releasing actual albums? There are, and we’re glad that this chap is one of them. Danish pop gent Bryan Rice showcases his swoonsome vocals across a brand new album, ‘Hear Me As I Am’.
What’s the best song? We’re still total stans for ‘I Choose U’. The song which should have represented Denmark at the Eurovision Song Contest in 2014.
Other highlights? ‘Until This Day’, his duet with Søs Fenger, is a FIT ballad. Also in the fit ballad stakes is ‘These Arms’. Like c’mon – THAT man talking about THESE arms. ‘Waiting For My Love’ sees him get his synth on, and we’re here for that. In terms of hit potential, there’s ‘Hear Me As I Am’ – should Shayne Ward be on the lookout for another song of Bryan’s to nick. See also ‘Parachute’, as a future single. Only disappointment on the album is that ‘IOU’ isn’t a cover of the Victoria Beckham classic.
Is there a lead single? Yep. The funked-up-tempo ‘Beat of My Own Drum’, the video for which he released today and you can watch that below.
