Ah yes – you can always rely on Carina Dahl to release a good pop song every six months or so. And the Norwegian songstress has done it again. This is her latest jam and a half, ‘Be My Lover’.
Is it any cop? It sounds like a Kylie Minogue album track crossed with an “EDM” floor filler. The KM influence being contained within the verses and bridges, and the EDM arriving for the chorus. The Kylie bits are the best parts in all honesty – we wish it had have stuck to that sound the whole way through. But in fairness; intro, first verse, first bridge, second verse, and second bridge makes up more than half of the song, so we’re happy.
RE Kylie crossed with EDM – is it better than ‘Skirt’? Oh God yes.
