It’s been quite some time since we heard from Norwegian Idol and Melodi Grand Prix graduate Rikke Lie. Well over two years in fact. But today she returned to pop with the release of her new single and video ‘Paperboat’.
Two years later and her sound hasn’t changed too dramatically. Instead, what we get is an updated, matured version of what Rikke Lie was coming out with before. ‘Paperboat’ is a wistful piano ballad on which Rix makes gloomy prospects into dreamy sounds. And we don’t remember her vocal ever sounding as fantastic as this.
“we’re just two lost souls sailing on a paperboat…….don’t you leave me to drown”
How lovely that she’s come back.
