Swedish singer Negin (you remember her from ‘Unexpected‘, right?) has been recruited to provide the vox for the new single by Monsieur Adi, ‘Lucky Ones’. And she probably co-wrote it too, given that she’s a songwriter most of the time – she IS responsible for Melanie B’s ‘For Once In My Life’ after all. Instant legend status in our book.
It’s ace to see her back on vocal duties though. And what a song to have her on. ‘Lucky Ones’ is brilliant weekend material. As Popjustice pointed out when they premiered the song earlier this week, it’s very ‘Confessions’ album era Madonna. Particularly ‘Get Together’, we’d say.
For us, this is getting better with each listen. And may well go down as a highlight of the genre in 2014.
‘Lucky Ones’ precedes Monsieur Adi’s ‘After Hours’ album which will drop in early 2015 (and which will hopefully also house the incredible ‘What’s Going On‘ with A*M*E).
