Now that the ‘Queen of the Clouds’ album is nearing its release (this Wednesday in Sweden we believe, and next week everywhere else aside from the UK), we’re being teased with more tracks from it. First there was ‘Timebomb’ and then ‘Moments’ – and now Universal Sweden have confirmed ‘Talking Body’ as the next Swedish single (everywhere else is getting ‘Not On Drugs’, which you will ALL be familiar with already).
‘Talking Body’ is one of her merrier moments. Well perhaps more horny than merry, but in any case it’s good to hear her be more upbeat about something – as incredible as the songs are as a result of her usual sadness and despair. The beat and the tempo of the song are funked up to match her mood. And she sounds like a whole different Tove Lo than the one we’re used to on ‘Out of Mind’, ‘Not On Drugs’, and ‘Habits’. This one’s ALL about The Sex.
We’ll be honest here, we still think that ‘Timebomb’ is the best thing she’s ever done, and it’s CRIMINAL that it’s not being rushed out as the new single everywhere on this planet. But ‘Talking Body’ is also awesomeness, so we can’t begrudge it its single status too much.
