Finnish pop gent Robin returned on Friday with the first single (and video) from his forthcoming third album. It’s ‘Parasta Just Nyt’, and features Nikke Ankara.
As you would hope and expect from a popstar progressing through his career while still in his teens, his sound has matured accordingly. It’s a grungey r&b/pop number with a shedload of attitude and a shitload of synth. It BANGS quite considerably. And raises the bar as much as Robin needs to, now that his fellow young Finn Isac Elliot is doing the whole teen pop a lot better and with more popularity than Robin ever did.
We like it when former tween popstars reach their third album and start churning out bigger pop songs like this.
His voice sounds a lot more grown up too – he’s practically GROWLING some of the lyrics here. Oh hang on, is that rap?!
