We’ve always liked a bit of Norwegian popstrel Gabrielle here at Scandipop. And now we like her even more. Thanks to her HOT new single ‘5 Fine Frøkner’.
This afternoon P3 Radio in Norway had the single’s premiere – and you can now check out the video below. The track finds her edge towards a more clubland-esque territory with her sound. What starts off as a slow, bass-heavy beat and a sexy vocal verse, turns into a bit of a massive chorus job. 90s piano house and a melody that would be so very singalong if only we all spoke Norwegian a lot better than we did.
We don’t normally make a point of being all “if this had been recorded in English, it could have been huge in the UK” with Scandi language songs, but yeah – that. As it stands though, this is set to be huge in Norway this summer.
The song was composed by Gabrielle herself, along with Joakim Haukaas – who also co-wrote Robin Stjernberg’s ‘You’ and Britney Spears’ ‘Tik Tik Boom’.
‘5 Fine Frøkner’ will be released on Friday. Not sure in which territories, but Universal Music Norway have an irritating habit of keeping it strictly Norwegian based for our Gabrielle. Must be all those licensing offers they get for her music from non-Norwegian speaking countries eh? Oh….
