Norwegian duo Ask Embla have just uploaded a new demo online. To appease all of the fans waiting for some new music after the release of one of THE best albums of 2013, ‘Northern Light’. It’s called ‘Legion’ and you can take a listen to it below.
Speaking of the ‘Northern Light’ album – ‘Legion’ continues to tread the sound that they mastered so well on there. ‘Tis a rousing number that – as it should do – sounds like an introduction to the next layer of Ask Embla. The song starts off like it’s going to be another ‘Einn’ (*swoon*!), then turns into a funked up organic electropop track. It disappears into a momentary bit of uber brilliance during the middle eight, and then returns for one more blast of the chorus – a glimmering outro with a slight retro chic. It’s a bit gorgeous.
And what of that new album, eh?
Well they’re halfway through it right now, and they’re hoping to have it completed and released before the end of the year. A single should also be out at some point throughout the summer. Ina and Arnthor are both currently in the studio. And also this summer they’ve already been booked to play some festivals in Norway. So it’s all GO!
