Danish singer Nabiha returned yesterday with a brand new single (released around most of the world, but not yet the UK unfortch).
The new track is ‘Bang That Drum’, a massive departure from the laidback, r&b, retro Motown kind of sound that we normally associate with Nabiha (and love). This one is super charged electrohouse with a bonkers production, an epic chorus melody, and as the title suggests – a fuck load of electronic drumbeats. It’s one of those mental SLASH brilliant song things that we love so much around here. We didn’t know Nabiha had it in here, but she sounds ace at it.
‘Bang That Drum’ was written by Nabiha herself along with Carl Ryden, Nick Clow and Luciana Caporaso. And it’s got Luciana’s paw prints all over it – as you can probably tell from the above description, it sounds a lot more like one of Luciana’s usual efforts than it does Nabiha’s.
The song is the official theme of the 2014 European Handball Championships.
