Finland’s very own version of Så Mycket Bättre wrapped up earlier this month. And as we reported back in October, Anna Abreu was amongst the line-up of artists taking part in this series of the show. Tunes ahoy!
The six songs she covered and performed were a varied bunch, in terms of genre. And all (but one) quite enjoyable as it happens. Ranging from electropop to cod ska and reggae to spooky balladry to summer drenched Europop to a corker that starts off as a ballad and then becomes a pop song, and then finally a pretty awful folk number. Well, maybe not awful – but bloody boring.
The most successful of the bunch was the reggae and ska tinged ‘Kylmästä Lämpimään’ – by quite some distance actually. Number 1 on iTunes and with over a quarter of a million streams on YouTube – seven times as many as her next most listened to track on there.
