Here’s a pretty brill pop tune that found its way into our inbox this week (ie someone sent it there). It’s come all the way from Finland and it’s called ‘Fashionably Late’ by a new girl duo called One Louder. That’s an odd name isn’t it? It doesn’t make any sense.
‘Fashionably Late’ is one of those delightfully simplistic pop songs that you just GET straight away. The melody of the verses sound like something you’ve heard a thousand times before, but not in a warraripoff kind of way, more a ohthisiscomfortinglyfamilar kind of way. And of course that means that they’re supremely catchy, which in turn of course means that it instantly goes that bit further up our street.
We don’t know ANYTHING about the One Louder girls other than that they’re from Finland, but we look forward to hearing more from them.
Give this one a go. It’s the sweetest of very good pop songs. So sweet that it often veers into modern folk territory. Which probably isn’t selling it to you, but you’ll know what we mean when you listen to it.
