Gabrielle has just put out her second album, ‘Nattergal’, in her native Norway. And following on from the album’s two lead singles ‘Regn Fra Blå Himmel‘ and ‘#SitterHer‘, there’s now a third track that’s been climbing up the Norwegian iTunes charts – the quite amazing ‘Medvind (Med Vin)’.
We’re not sure if it’s a single or not. She’s made a lyric video for it (which you can see below), but then she’s also made lyric vids for a couple of other songs from the album too. In any case really, it just deserves to be brought to your attention, because of its aforementioned amazingnessness.
It’s a fast paced, killer tune – one which boasts verses that are just as exciting as its chorus. And Gabrielle herself controls the gargantuan song with cool aplomb. Sound wise, ‘Medvind (Med Vin)’ is a little bit like Rita Ora, Katy B and Disclosure scrambled together in a blender and then resulting noise being taken into the studio and perfected by the Scandinavians. Needless to say, if this had been recorded in English then it would scream HASHTAGSUREFIREHIT. But the Norwegians are keeping this one for themselves.
You should have a listen regardless though.
