Ulrik Munther releases his new single and video today, ‘Requiem’. It’s the follow-up single to his Melodifestivalen hit from earlier this year, ‘Tell The World I’m Here’. And like that song, it’s taken from his new album, his second in total, ‘Rooftop’.
‘Requiem’ and ‘Tell The World I’m Here’ have proven to be the double whammy in Ulrik Munther’s coming of age as an artist. The harmonica blowing street urchin of yesteryear has grown up and started producing seriously good pop songs with epic productions and heart wrenching melodies. ‘Requiem’ contains a chorus that simultaneously drowns in its own sadness and then comes crashing back to life with an excited thrust of hope. He’s now using Coldplay’s finest stadium moments as his reference point, and infusing them with a Scandinavian pop craft.
