Popjustice today premiered another song from Annie’s new ‘The A&R EP’, following on from last week’s ‘Back Together‘.
It’s ‘Hold On’. And it’s lush. A downbeat beauty that shimmers along until it reaches an extended outro that sounds as though it’s stumbled upon a new genre – Caribbean electro! It can’t just be us that’s hearing that, can it? Maybe it’s the hot weather.
Elsewhere the song is harking back to the late 80s. A scorching late 80s summer in which a romance is on the brink of fizzling out before being quickly saved by Annie’s healing words of wisdom.
Produced by Richard X (the ‘R’ in ‘The A&R EP’), and co-written with Hannah Robinson.
