Really very good Finnish popstrel Kristiina Wheeler has just released another really very good single. ‘Rikki’.
You remember ‘Muukalainen’, don’t you? Good. It’s well worth remembering.
One of the best things about ‘Rikki’ is its neon two-tone chorus. It’s an explosive pop moment, in which both the production and the melody come to life. And of course Kristiina’s superb vocals too.
If you squint your ears a little, you can make out a little bit of Girls Aloud influence, whether intended or not. From the ‘Stop’ intro, to the ‘Call The Shots’ chorus via the ‘The Loving Kind’ synth-a-thon.
