The first official club mixes of the new Agnetha Fältskog tunes have arrived.
*SCREAM*
We were hoping that there would be some remixes of her stuff this time around, since on her last album ‘My Colouring Book’, it was the remixes of the two singles by Almighty, that were the real highlights of that whole campaign. With this album, it’s all so far looking and sounding strong enough without the need for remixes to be a highlight. But still, they’re always a great bonus – particularly on such a ballad to mid-tempo heavy album, and well also because it’s Agnetha from ABBA. And we all like dancing to the sound of that voice, right?
The lucky recipients of remixing duties for the lead single ‘When You Really Loved Someone’, are The Alias. And in turn, as luck would have it – The Alias are one of our favourite remixing teams, so everybody wins here. They’ve previously done a lot of production work on some of our favourite pop girls such as The Saturdays, Girls Aloud, Little Mix, Cheryl Cole, Demi Lovato, and Selena Gomez (& The Scene). Plus of course, they’re also responsible for that amazing UK mix of our favourite pop boy’s track, ‘Hearts In The Air’.
What they’ve done to Agnetha’s ‘When You Really Loved Someone’ doesn’t need all that much explaining really. You know the drill here. They’ve turned the swoonsome ballad original (which we love) into a slightly camp, dance floor ready club bopper (which we also love). A radio edit, plus an extended mix.
Here. Listen to both of them;
