Meet pop’s latest boyband, The United. Made up of five guys from five different countries – Gabriel (Sweden), Step (Italy), Mike (UK), Manuel (Germany), and Teus (Netherlands). Nice concept. The whole thing has mercifully been masterminded in Scandinavia though, with the management and the band based in Norway. Plus, the debut single ‘Stay Young’ has been composed by Swedes – Anderz Wrethov and Anders Grahn. As it should be!
‘Stay Young’ is a big, bold dancepop number. In a current pop wave of boybands, ‘Stay Young’ stands out as it’s more unashamedly Europop than the rest of what’s out there. Fresh faced, clean cut, and with a sound that’s focused on fast paced synths, and an anthemic melody. Job done – ‘Stay Young’ is highly palatable and easily digestible. And as such, we’re lapping it up. There’s lots to love about the song.
