One of Finland’s most exciting pop breakthroughs last year, came courtesy of Jannika B. Check out each of her first three singles on Scandipop here.
Now, she’s pillaging her ‘Kaikki Rohkeus’ album for all its worth, and gearing up to release a fourth single from it. And it’s time for a ballad. ‘Pohjanmaan Tuulia’.
It’s one of those ballads that turns the strings up and tunes them to “sad”. It also chucks in some slowed down beats and a few synths. There’s also a brilliantly haunting choral section in the middle eight. A tortured masterpiece. And something which showcases a totally different side to Jannika B’s sound, after the electropop which has gone before.
Listen below. And should it take your fancy, you’ll be pleased to know that she’s released it outside of Finland too. iTunes link below the stream.
