Swedish girlband Ms Trez have just released a new single – ‘Beat Is Hot’.
After last year’s quite fabulous ‘Louder‘, the girls continue their girl-gone-wild jaunt out in Clubland. It’s another showcase of their attitude with a big shouty chorus. ‘Beat Is Hot’ sounds more like a debut single, since lyrically it’s quite biographical and serves as a “we are Ms Trez” introduction piece. Well, we say biographical – we imagine there’s more to these ladies’ lives than going out, getting sloshed, and dancing all night. But we wouldn’t like them any less if that did turn out to be the case.
We do love to see an independent girlband soldier on in the name of pop music. They might not be that well known yet, but if they keep releasing singles like this and ‘Louder’, they’ll at least be cementing a nice little legacy for themselves in the annals of pop. And ‘cheers’ to that.
